  • This talk explores the internet uptake, connectivity, and interconnectivity of a number of island nations in the Pacific. Physical links including submarine fibre cables and satellite networks are discussed, a physical distance to latency indicator is introduced, and provider networks are evaluated for latency.

16:00: Practical Introduction to IPv6

  • Philip Smith, NSRC
  • This presentation discusses why the Internet is deploying IPv6, shows what changes when compared with IPv4, and covers the commonly adopted transition technologies today. The presentation concludes by describing how to plan to transition to IPv6 and covers the steps required for a network operator.
